En Esch gifts propulsive political anthem feat. Guenter Schulz and more

Just when you thought it was safe to turn your stereo down, Berlin’s own En Esch delivers an early gift in the form of “Yum Yum Beauty & The Nasty Thief” featuring fellow Slick Idiot and former-KMFDM member Guenter Schulz.

The fourth single from his heavily anticipated full-length Dance Hall Putsch, “Yum Yum Beauty & The Nasty Thief” delivers everything you could want from Esch – and then some – in its eight minute glory.

Orchestral synths courtesy of vintage Soviet gear crescendo into crushing guitar and perfectly layered vocals of profound and timely lyrics. Midway through, the opus breaks into halftime where guest toharsky delivers an entirely commanding and moving sermon on the spoils of war while Schulz’s guitar work morphs into funky, Prince-like riffs.

Four singles deep into the new material and Esch’s prowess shows absolutely no signs of slowing.

Artist Statement

“This song is dedicated to all people living in totalitarian countries, where leaders don’t go anywhere and do what they like without considering the benefit of their own people, or anyone for that matter. Living in the ‘West’ is not perfect but at least one can breathe freely in a lot of aspects.

What’s truly special about this track is the collaboration with my friend toharsky handling the Russian vocals and that I used a great old Soviet Union Polivoks synthesizer for the bassline which I found in a studio in Warsaw, Poland.

My thanks go out to the fantastic Guenter Schulz, known from Slick Idiot and KMFDM, for playing guitar and also Gabriel Lennox from Seraph Sin for singing with me on this track. Thanks to Michael Carrasquillo for additional midi programming.”
