DEATHDANCE wants revenge
Awaking from their slumber since their last extended play – 2019’s Réveiller (exalted as “masterfully crafted” and “a huge sonic experience”) and 2020’s entirely innovative and subversive The Blessing – the critically-acclaimed duo returns with their most grandiose work yet.
Brimming with brooding cinematic and orchestral compositions, haunting lyrics and grinding guitars, I Want Revenge also finds the group returning to the darkened dance-floor anthems that inspired their namesake with “People Like You” featuring punk and industrial icon Mona Mur guesting on both guitar and vocals.
Singer Augustus Watkins reaches enormous new heights with some of the most vulnerable yet authoritative vocals of his career, while KPT demonstrates he’s got more than witch house-inspired industrial up his sleeve with truly organic and lush compositions wrought from a collection of vintage hardware.

“We wanted to make a truly organic and human record, so we used more traditional instrumentation than we ever have,” says the duo. “We performed everything by hand, from guitars to bass to ukulele to synths and the individual drum hits. There’s little to no programming, sequencing, or looping. We needed it to feel real.”

Invoking themes of fiery ruination, betrayal, resolute isolation, grave miscalculation, ghastly bloodletting and the sweet taste of revenge (of course), the result is truly a consummate work of storytelling and mood.
DEATHDANCE’s brand new EP, I Want Revenge mastered by Rob Robinson (ohGr, Order of the Static Temple) is available worldwide now.
